Subject Crazy suits, cut out dolls
Description Image and text. The front cover shows four figures, the hands and faces of which are defined by dotted lines like those used on cut out dolls. The faces are numbered from left to right except for the fourth which has "&". The clown suit type clothes on the figures are drawn in pen and ink and rendered in water colour or gouache in bright colours and geometric designs. The band name and album title appear across the top of the cover. The band name is angular, hand generated, upper case and white with a black border and drop shadow against geomtric shapes in red, yellow and purple. The album title is also hand generated and lower case in purple and red. [KY]
Description Image and text. The back cover has a background of stripes shaded with black pen and ink drawn geomtric shapes. The song list for side 1 appears on the left aligned to the left, and the titles for for side 2 on the right aligned to the right. Both sets of titles alternate red and purple. Information about the production sits between these two lists along with the Mushroom logo. Six photographs appear across the lower half of the cover. These are all black and white, possibly photocopied for high contrast, and then brightly hand coloured. [KY]
Description A version of this record was also released in the UK with the same title. The track listing was different as was the cover. The back cover contains sleeve notes by Neil Finn. Quote: "These fantastically uncommercial songs still send shivers up my spine". [CM]
