Relation.version of The design of the covers for the 'History Never Repeats' and 'Corroboree' Split Enz albums.
Description Front cover; image and text. The design of the front cover forms the shape of a shield against a white background. This form is composed mainly of three descending semiquavers on a set of staves. It is rendered in pink, grey, black, and white. The musical notes and staves are coloured in a checkerboard pattern. The title of the record is in the top right corner, and is black against a white background. It is in a bold upper case sans serif typeface which is slightly uneven as if Letrasetted on. The band name, in the same typeface, is in the top left of the cover. [KY]
Description Back cover; image and text. The information and imagery used on the back cover is laid out in the same shield form as is used on the front cover. This form is defined by a pink background. Within the form the space is broken into seven smaller geometric forms by pink lines. Six of these forms contain black and white, high contrast, photographic images of the members of the band. The seventh has text only and is positioned centre bottom of the shield form. The text is sans serif and a mix of upper and lower case. [KY]
Description There is a strong graphic relationship between the albums 'Corroboree' and 'Waiata' and the single 'History Never Repeats' through a very flat stylised look, which is reminiscent of the paintings of Gordon Walters. The imagery is identical in each, with variations in the colours. [CM]
