Description Image and text. The illustration and the text have been placed on the page within a thin yellow line. The main illustrative focus of the work is a rendering of a car and its occupants. The car and passengers are of the Edwardian era. The car is black with a golden colour trim and is open topped. It has a red number plate with the years 1968.9 written upon it. Driving the car is a man with a thick moustache. He is wearing a hat, shirt and tie coat made of checked material and long gloves. In the passenger seat is a woman wearing a big blue hat and a purple jacket. Sitting in the back of the car, behind the driver is a young girl wearing a straw hat and a sailor collar blouse. She is holding a pink balloon that has the words 'North Island' on it in blue capital letters. To the side of the car and facing towards it is a young boy. He is wearing a flat cap, striped shirt with braces, woollen shorts, long socks and shoes. He has his left hand behind his back and is holding a hoop in it. He is holding his right hand up towards the car and has a stick in his hand. At the back left of the car is a gas street lamp. To the top right of the street lamp is text that reads 'Accommodation Directory'. The word 'accommodation' is in a blue font, 'directory' is in a pink font. 'Accommodation' has been placed above 'Directory'. Both words descend from left to right. Just above this text, to the right are the words 'New Zealand'. Between the two sets of words is a small illustrative flourish which is the same colour as the line that frames the whole image. Underneath the car illustration are the words 'The Automobile Association Guide to Hotels and Motels 1968-69'. It is printed in a pink font.
