Relation Prodesign # 50 Dec 2000/Jan 2001
This image was used in an article by Chris Mousdale entitled "digging for gold", about record cover design as a window on New Zealand culture.
Description Front cover; image and text. A woman is depicted sitting slumped and resigned in a lounge on a striped couch. She holds an umbrella and a handbag. Next to her on the couch is a sleeping bag in its cover. A standard lamp is to her right and a coffee table with a magazine in the foreground. This photographic image has a white border which sits against a flat black background. The song title and artists name are in bold sans serif upper case type reminiscent of newspaper headings. The title is aligned right, and the name runs along the bottom of the cover. The cover has a feel of documentary or "gritty realism". [KY]
Description Back cover; image and text. The back has a photographic image of Marilyn Waring and information in sans serif black, about how the record came about. The Record Label catalogue number appears in the upper right, and the Label logo in the lower right. A slogan across the bottom reads "If it rocks: it's a ripper". [KY]
