This image was used in an article by Chris Mousdale entitled "digging for gold", about record cover design as a window on New Zealand culture.
Description Front cover; image and text. The front cover shows Peter Posa at the far right in a studio shot against a white background. He has no shadow and looks as if he has been cut out and pasted against the cover. He wears a crisp sky blue suit, white shirt, string tie, and winklepicker shoes. He carries a black leather guitar case in one hand and a beige raincoat draped across the other. He's giving a cheesy smile to the camera and has his hair slicked back. The other two thirds of the cover is a montage of what appear to be appropriated images of exotic international travel destinations - the Eiffel tower, a pagoda and a tropical island. These are rendered in flat strong colours against hand coloured pastel grounds, all of which contain a sun or moon, and have a tan border. The typography is lower case serif/cursive in dark brown. [KY]
Description Back cover; image and text. The back cover continues the theme of international travel destinations with two thirds of the cover showing images of the Leaning Tower of Piza, Big Ben, the Golden Gate Bridge and a Germanic looking building. These images are stylistically the same as the front in both palette and rendering and have the same tan border. In the bottom right is a wire frame globe in white against a dark background with the album title and artist name reversed out in white. This text is in the same italic, serif, lower case type as on the front cover, and is aligned right. The remaining third of the cover has the track list and a piece of prose about the talents and international fame of Peter Posa. Both text blocks are aligned right. The prose is in a brown italic serif typeface. The track list is in brown sans serif upper case. [KY]
