This mat is part of a series of works produced in the 1990's. The artist supplied a few retail outlets in Auckland, New Zealand. The range of products include a range of purses, bags and floormats, all using similar motifs and materials.
Description This work was exhibited in 1998 at Artstation Gallery, Ponsonby, Auckland, New Zealand. The show comprised of six floormats which were exhibited on the floor. Two other artists used the wall space. The works were linked through the use of stencils as well as a strong use of symmetry. The images have a Pacific influence in imagery as well as style.
