Description This garment won the Pareu section of the Pasifika Fashion show in 1996. The printed bandana, lavalava and waistcoat were one colour on a plain cream fabric to evoke the feeling of traditional tapa (cloth made from the paper mulberry tree and unique to the Pacific. )
