Description Front cover; image and text. The band name and title of the record run across the top of the cover from left to right. The text is black on a white background and the kerning decreases as the words reach the right side of the cover. There is a bullet point between the band name and record title. A photographic, black and white collaged image is below this. It constitutes the rest of the cover. It features a shot of a man in the right foreground. The man has been photographed with his back to the camera and his features are visible in silhouette. In the background is terraced housing. On the right side is a shot of the backs of houses and there is a railing in front of the houses. On the left side is a close up shot of a building of which a window is the main focus of the image. The window is constructed of two panes of glass and through each pane two head and shoulder shots of women can be seen. All the women have hairstyles of the early 1920s and are washing their faces. In the upper part of the window one woman, in the right of the window and seen in profile, is splashing water onto her face from a bowl. Her hands and the bowl can be seen in the lower part of the window. To the right of her is a front shot of another woman who is holding a towel to her face. In the lower part of the window two woman are both facing the camera and holding towels to their faces. [AAF]
Description Back cover; image and text. The back cover is white with black text and a black photographic image. The is of a woman from the early 1920s. She has a similar hairstyle to the women on the front cover and is wearing a white baggy shirt, black stockings and knickerbockers. The woman is crouching at the knees and has her hands raised above her head. It appears as though she is holding a sign which contains the title of the b side of the record. She is positioned towards the bottom left corner of the cover, the song title sign is located in the horizontal middle third of the page. The text in the sign has been laid out in a similar way to the band name and song title on the front of the cover except kerning increases as the words reach the right side of the sign. A bullet point is again used to differentiate between the words 'B side' and the record title 'The Silencer'. In the top right hand corner of the back cover are the record label numbers. To the right of the woman's body is a small block of text, justified left, that contains acknowledgements, production and distribution details. Underneath this, in the very bottom right corner is the name and address of the record company. In the bottom left corner, are the words 'cover, T Hogan'. There is a bullet point between the word 'cover' and the letter 'T'. [AAF]
