The front cover image is a negative of a photograph of the band.
Description Front cover; image and text. The front cover has a flat black background, against which both image and text are printed in grey. The band name is centered along the top of the cover in a serif mixed case typeface. Below this and also centered is a square image depicting the four band members. This has been rendered as a high contrast negative of a photograph as if it were a two colour screen print. The drummer is at the top slightly right of center. He is shown from the waist up and is holding a drum stick about to strike a drum. To the far left is the bass player in profile and facing left. He appears to be pressing a pedal with his left foot. To the far right is the guitar player. In the foreground of the image is the singer. He is looking down and holding a microphone on a stand with his right hand. Below this image, in inverted commas, is the song title. The type used for this title has a slightly distressed or decaying appearance. [KY]
Description Back cover; image and text. The back cover is also printed in grey against flat black. It has the name of the A side song across the top, with the band name underneath. Below this is a small rectangular image of what appears to be the eye sockets and nasal cavity of a skull. Within each socket sits a detatched eyeball. This image, like that on the front cover, is in negative. Below this are the words "Strange TV", in a hand generated type that appears to have been created with a wide marker pen. Below this the band name is repeated with the words "Live and Loud" printed small and close underneath. Below this the words "Hard Edge" are rendered in a fractured typeface. All the text described so far is upper case and centered on the cover. At the bottom of the cover aligned left and ranged right is information about the singles production and distribution. This text is lower case and sans serif. [KY]
