Description Image and text. The image and text are framed by a thin green line. The main illustrative aspect of this work is a depiction of a car and three people. The car is an Edwardian model, open at the sides, with a canvas like roof. The main body of the car is red, the trim and the fittings are a golden colour. The number plate bears the date; '1968 9'. A man is driving the car. He is wearing a straw hat, shirt and tie and jacket. He has a pipe in his mouth. In the passenger seat is a woman. She is wearing a hat and a purple outfit. A selection of fishing equipment is visible in the back of the car. One fishing rod is sticking out of the left side of the car. To the right and facing the car, a young girl is standing. She has long black hair. She is wearing a straw hat and a stripey shorts suit. She is waving with her right hand and is holding a red bucket in her right hand. To the left of the car is a wooden sign that reads; 'North Island'. Centered below the car is blue text that reads; 'An Automobile Association Guide to motor camps, cabins, caravan parks, boating and outdoor recreation.' In the top right of the image is a Kowhai flower and leaves. (The Kowhai is a native New Zealand plant). To the left of the foliage is text that reads; 'New Zealand Outdoor Guide'. 'New Zealand' is written in orange capital letters. 'Outdoor' is written in green capitals, 'Guide' is written in purple capitals. Both 'Outdoor' and 'Guide' descend down the page from left to right, the bottom of the letters 'U', 'I' and 'D' hidden by the car roof. To the left of this text is the AA logo which consists of two black capital 'A's in a yellow box. [AAF]
