Description Cover. Image and text. The only text on the cover of this Christmas card reads; 'Samoa on the Teal Coral Route'. The black and white illustration is centred in the middle of the card. This illustration is framed to create an oval shape on three sides by leaves and a tree trunk. In the centre of the illustration is a stylised image of an indigenous woman holding hands with a young girl. They are wearing clothing made of identical material. The woman is wearing a lei around her neck. Both of them are smiling broadly.Behind the woman and child is a church with a tall spire. The background is also created from hills that have trees growing on them. The sun is high in the sky. To the right of the woman the image is framed by a tree trunk that has creepers and vines growing through it and some flowers at the base. On the left of, and underneath the image a frame has been created from palm leaves. There are a couple of butterflies in the bottom left 'corner' of the image. The text runs directly under the illustration. [AAF]
Description Card inner. Image and text. In the top left corner of the card is poetry by Rupert Brooke. Underneath the wrods 'Rupert Brooke' is a small illustration of a man wearing indigenous clothing. To the right of the man and centred across the middle of the card are the words; 'A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year'. [AAF]
The illustration of the man has also been used on the cover of the ticket folder designed by Clark. (nzgda_dp_nc_i_120)
