Description Image and text. The bottom quarter of the advertisement is black. The black section has the words 'Fly TEAL' in pale blue capital letters centred horizontally within it. Running below these words is the sentence; 'New Zealand's international airline in association with Qantas and B.O.A.C.' This is in yellow text. The words 'Fly Teal' are dissected horizontally by a thin line that represents the trail left behind airplanes. The plane which is leaving the trail has been placed to the right of the letter 'L'. The small plane is viewed as from above and appears to be flying towards the right edge of the page. An illustration makes up the rest of the work. A tree stands on the left side of the page, the leaf filled branches almost covering the top left corner of the page. Hanging in front of these branches is a large white sign that reads 'Australia' in red letters. Directly below the sign, to the right of the tree trunk, is a small cafe table with a man sat at it. Directly behind the table is a large man, wearing a waistcoat, bow tie and apron. He has a moustache and is leaning back smoking a cigarette. Leaning over the front of the table is a waiter, dressed in black and holding a round tray behind him. The customer is wearing a hat, brown jacket and red tie and is leaning on the table reading the menu. The table has a red checked table cloth and the customer is sat in a wicker chair. To the left of the table and chair, a man is sat leaning up against the bottom of the tree trunk. He is wearing a yellow waistcoat and reading a newspaper. There are some posters pinned on the tree above his head. In the foreground of the illustration, to the right of the cafe table, a man and a woman are walking, arm in arm along the street. The woman is wearing a yellow skirt printed with white polka dots. She has her left arm raised and is carrying a red bag in the crook of her elbow. Her other arm is looped through the mans. He has his left hand in his pocket and in his right is carrying a small camera case. He is wearing a pale blue suit with a red tie and a white shirt. His hat has been trimmed with a red ribbon the same colour as the tie. The couple are smiling and talking to each other. In the background, other people can be seen walking along the street. There are various buildings visible, some of these have signs hanging from them. The sky is pale blue, one cloud can be seen floating by. There are a number of flags on the top of buildings which are shown fluttering in the breeze. [AAF]
