Culture New Zealand
The colours of this cover are reminiscent of Maori kowhaiwhai panels. Kowhaiwhai panels are traditional black, brown, white and red painted wooden rafters that form part of the inside of New Zealand Maori meeting houses.

Relation.part of a series..'Waiata', 'Corroboree', and single 'History Never Repeats'
This record has the same basic artwork as the album 'Waiata' with the addition on the single of a Split Enz logo. Colour combinations for the album varied for country of release: NZ used black/brown with the Title 'Waiata', Australia used black/brown and title 'Corroboree', US used purple/green and black/pink, the UK used purple/green and Japan used pink/black.
Description Front cover; image and text. The design of the front cover forms the shape of a shield against a black background. This form is composed of the band name and single title and three descending semiquavers on a set of staves. It is rendered in a reddish brown, black, and white, colours reminiscent of traditional Maori kowhaiwhai colours. The musical notes and staves are coloured in a checkerboard pattern. The title is white reversed out against brown and is in a bold upper case sans serif typeface which is slightly uneven as if Letrasetted on. The band name is in the lower part of the shield and is a stylised light cursive typeface in lower case. [KY]
Description Back cover; image and text. The back has the same form and design as the front with the band name in the place of the single title. The song titles and information are in the place of the stylised band name, as well as the Polygram logo and the address for the 'Frenz of the Enz' club. All type is white reversed out of brown, and is upper case except for the logo which is both upper and lower case. [KY]
Description This single was taken from the albums 'Corroboree' and 'Waiata'. There is a strong graphic relationship between the albums and the single through the very flat stylised look, which is reminiscent of the paintings of Gordon Walters. [CM]
