Description Front cover; image and text. The album title 'Wonder Book of Things to Do' appears on the front cover, and a list or catalogue of titles from Ward Locks Wonder Book series on the fold sleeve. The Ward Lock design on the cover and flap is from an original book published in early 1960's, with layout and original photoprint for letterpress by Williams - also for inner record label. Images of boys camping, swimming and diving, and a train, emerge from an oil lamp like that in the fairytale of Aladdin. The type is a mixture of serif and sans serif fonts. The folded card cover also has an imitation MRP sticker - a parody of the government Maximum Retail Price (MRP) scheme introduced by the New Zealand National Government in 1979-80. [DM KY]
Description Back cover; image and text. Song titles and acknowledgements appear on the back cover in black, and are a mix of serif and sans serif. Some text is italicised and some bold. A lot of punk design was a parody of "correct" lifestyles and careers, and was an appropriation of the mechanisms and systems for the creation and marketing of contemporary music. [DM KY]
